Where we stand
TROPIK is run by a sole trader. As such, we fall under the microenterprise exemption provided for by Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services, as transposed into French law: the formal compliance obligation does not apply to us, and we are not subject to the RGAA statement either, which is reserved for public bodies and for companies with more than €250 million in turnover in France.
We don't use that as an excuse. A site that can't be read is a site that doesn't sell, and a store that displays precise doses has a particular reason to be readable. What follows describes what we actually do, without claiming a level of compliance we have not had audited.
What is done
- Contrast is measured, not judged by eye. Every piece of text on the site is automatically checked against the background it actually sits on, including when that background is semi-transparent, and must reach the AA threshold of WCAG 2.2 (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for graphical elements).
- Regulatory text is never the smallest on the site. Directions for use, caffeine warning, composition, cancellation terms: everything that binds you is displayed at least at the size of the regular body text.
- Animations can be switched off. The site respects your system's reduce motion setting: when it is on, elements appear and panels open instantly.
- Nothing essential depends on JavaScript. Without it, no content is hidden: the page displays in full.
- Keyboard navigation works on menus, expandable panels and the order form, and focus stays visible.
- No information is conveyed by colour alone. A checked state, an alert or a difference in a table is always backed by a word or a symbol.
What isn't
We have not had an accessibility audit carried out by a third party, so we claim no level of compliance. Known issues still to be addressed:
- Alternative text for product images describes the product, not always the scene photographed.
- Some comparison tables scroll horizontally on small screens; they remain readable, but reading them takes one more gesture.
- The site has not been tested with every screen reader on the market.
