Why TROPIK exists
There are hundreds of energy complexes out there. Most line up twenty ingredients on the label and dose none of them seriously: that's what is politely called “label dusting”. You pay for a list, not a formula.
We came at the problem from the other end. Four actives. Doses written in large print. And a rule we set ourselves from day one: everything on the jar must be verifiable. No claim we couldn't defend before the DGCCRF (the French consumer protection authority), no promise a certificate of analysis couldn't confirm.
The milligram as a principle
A café espresso contains anywhere between 60 and 180 mg of caffeine depending on the machine, the grind, the pressure and the hand that tamps it. You never know what you've had. So you have another one, then another: by 4 pm you're at five coffees without ever deciding to be.
TROPIK is 180 mg. Every day, exactly. It isn't a technical feat, it's a choice of transparency: a known dose is a dose you can subtract from the rest of your day.
A brand with its own alphabet
TROPIK comes from τρόπος: the manner, the turn, the change of direction. From it came six families of icons (turn, mind, threshold, gaze, flow, substance): three signs per family, eighteen atoms in all. Each one exists as a line drawing and in figure-ground inversion.
We don't have a brand colour. We have palettes: chords of three inks (a background, a shape, an ink) that go together. The jar can be violet, apricot or night: it's the same formula, and it's always TROPIK, because the system is what makes the brand, not the shade.
The logotype, on the other hand, never changes shape. It simply switches from black to white depending on the luminance of what lies beneath it.
Where it's made
The formula is produced and encapsulated by our manufacturer, in the European Union. The capsule shell is made of pullulan, a polysaccharide obtained by fermentation: no gelatine, so the formula is vegan. The laboratory that will test our batches will be named here with the first certificate.
The brand is based in Vannes, in Brittany. Parcels ship from Germany, from our manufacturer. The emails, from Vannes.
What we will never say
- That this product cures, prevents or treats anything. It's a food supplement, not a medicine.
- That it replaces sleep. Nothing replaces sleep.
- That it suits everyone. It is not recommended for children, teenagers or pregnant or breast-feeding women.
- That a figure is proven when it isn't.
Vitamin C, for its part, carries claims authorised in Europe: “Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue” and “Vitamin C contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system”. They are the only ones we are allowed to write, and the only ones we write.
